Building P7 Studios

After deciding that quality control had to come home, the next challenge was transforming that conviction into a real studio. What does it take to build a fine‑art production space from scratch? For us, it meant a blend of research, investment, and plenty of trial and error.

From Spare Rooms to Studios

We started with a clear vision: a workspace where every stage of production could be handled under one roof. What was once a modest home office quickly became a fully equipped workshop full of printers, calibration tools, framing equipment, and stacks of carefully chosen paper and substrates.

Choosing the Right Tools

We didn’t want to settle for consumer‑grade printers or generic supplies. We sourced professional‑grade printers capable of producing gallery‑level detail, invested in calibration hardware to keep colors accurate, and experimented with different paper stocks and coatings until we found combinations that lived up to our expectations.

Long Nights, Steep Learning Curves

Every new machine came with its own quirks. There were late nights filled with test prints, misaligned frames, and more than a few moments of frustration. But each hurdle taught us something new about the craft—and reinforced that we were building more than just a studio. We were building the foundation of a promise: that every Pixel Paws portrait would be worthy of the pets and people it represents.

The Birth of P7 Studios

By the end of June, we had something we were proud to call P7 Studios. It wasn’t just a production facility; it was a commitment to artistry and craftsmanship. With our new studio, we could ensure consistency, experiment with new techniques, and push the boundaries of what our portraits could become.
